Make Your New Cat Feel Safe

One of the most important considerations when bringing home your new cat or kitten for the first time is how to make her/him feel safe. He will be entering a new world that he is uncertain about. So, as his new pet owner, you must give your pussy cat lots of attention while bringing him home.
He will need to be carefully introduced to the rest of the family but you also need to give him the opportunity to become adjusted to his surroundings.  As a cat, he is curious and wants to explore but may be a bit hesitant at first.

To make things easier for him, there are a few things you can do to help him adjust

* Don’t have a crowd of people waiting to meet your new cat.  Instead, he needs to be brought home by just one or two people.  Allow him to look around before introducing new people to his home.
* When someone new is introduced to your new pet pussy cat, give him a few minutes to sniff them, calmly.  Don’t be overly excited because your cat simply will become shy and hide.  Instead, allow him to ease into meeting new people one person at a time.
* Pussy needs to know where his things are right from the start. So always place his food and water in the same place and leave it there.  Do the same with his litter tray. If you are consistent, most cats are very good at returning to their litter tray time and time again without much training.

If you give your kitty some extra time to get acquainted to everything around you, he or she will feel more adjusted to their new home and owner.  They may even be more willing to play and socialise if you can take their introduction slowly and calmly and allow them to adjust at their own pace. You will reap the benefits later.
